A saddle stitch page order calculator shows which reader page lands in which slot. This page runs the live tool, so you are not filling a spreadsheet. Load a PDF (or a sample). Sheets view labels Front and Back with 1-based numbers. Pads show Blank. Reader view is 1…N including pads. Spreads show the cover wrap N beside 1, then 2 beside 3, and so on.

The formula is fixed. Sheet i (0 is outer): Front Left = N − 2i, Front Right = 2i + 1, Back Left = 2i + 2, Back Right = N − 2i − 1. Export page 2i+1 is that sheet’s Front; 2i+2 is Back. One signature for the whole booklet. Physical numbers only; there is no RTL mirror.

Worked vectors: 4 pages → (4|1)(2|3). 8 pages → (8|1)(2|7) then (6|3)(4|5). 16 pages → outer (16|1)(2|15), inner (10|7)(8|9). If you upload 5 pages, N becomes 8 and three blanks sit at 6, 7, and 8. Help lists the 8-page table. Hard limits are 400 pages and 200 MB. Encrypted files are rejected with no password field.

This calculator does not reorder for perfect bind or for multiple signatures. It does not drop pages to make the count pretty. Use gutter and creep if the preview shows type in the stitch or shingling at the trim. Print duplex, flip on long edge, 100% scale, printer booklet mode off—or you impose twice and the calculator’s numbers will not match the paper.
